The Degree of Practicing Digital Competencies
(A Field Study from the Point of View Faculty Members at Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie / Ramallah Branch)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
The research aimed to identify the degree of practicing digital competencies by of the faculty members at Palestine technical university - Kadoorie / Ramallah branch from their viewpoint. The research also aimed to study the differences significance between the average points of the research sample of the faculty members according to the following variables: (sex, age, academic rank). To achieve the research objectives, a descriptive analytical method was used, and a questionnaire was built, consisted of (22) item distributed into five areas has been applied on a sample of (63) participants. To verify the questionnaire validity, it was presented to a jury of (6) of specialized adjudicators in this domain, its reliability was verified by calculating the Cronbach alpha coefficient, which amounted to (0.941). The final results showed that the degree of practicing digital competencies of the faculty members came "high" rated, the result also showed no statistically significance differences in the degree of practicing digital competencies by faculty members according to the variables (sex, age, academic rank). The research presented some recommendations and proposals, the most important of which are: preparing training programs to improve the digital competencies of faculty members, especially in the areas of “digital content creation” and “safety,” and conducting more research on digital competencies.
