The Role of Knowledge Management Application in Improving Decision-Making Skills among Administrative Leaders in the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Abstract
The study aimed to reveal the role of applying the knowledge management approach to improving managerial decision-making skills among the leaders of the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the administrative leaders' point of view in the ministry. The descriptive approach approaches (survey and correlational) was followed, and the questionnaire were used as a tool for collecting data. The study sample consisted of all administrative leaders in the Ministry of Education, of whom (165) leaders responded. The results showed that the application of the knowledge management approach in the Ministry of Education was at an moderate degree in general (overall) and in the dimensions of: storing knowledge, distributing knowledge, applying knowledge, diagnosing knowledge, while the knowledge generation dimension came at a low degree. And the administrative leaders’ possession of managerial decision-making skills (overall) in the Ministry of Education was at a moderate degree. The results also showed that there is a very strong positive correlation, with statistical significance at the level (α= 0.001) between the application of the knowledge management approach and the leaders’ possession of managerial decision-making skills, the application of the knowledge management approach explains a large degree of improvement in the administrative decision-making skills of the ministry’s leaders, at a percentage of (90.2%), the greatest role in improving the administrative decision-making skills among leaders is due to the (knowledge application) dimension, followed by the (generating knowledge) dimension, then the (knowledge storage) dimension, followed by the (knowledge diagnosis) dimension, and finally the (knowledge distributing) dimension. Based on the results of the regression analysis, it can be predicted that the increase in the application of the knowledge management approach contributes to improving the managerial decision-making skills of the administrative leaders in the ministry.
