Domestic Violence and its Relationship to School Bullying among Middle School Students

Abstract

The aim of the current study is to identify the relationship between domestic violence and school bullying behavior among middle school students. The clinical approach (case study) was used for a sample of (4) male students in the Future Intermediate School for Boys, and the case study was defined by Huber, 1993 as the center of the curriculum. Clinical, it aims not only to give a description of the situation, the situation and the problem, but also to look at the origin and development of the problem, and to verify the validity of the study hypotheses, the semi-guided interview was used, and the family cognition test, which is a projective test designed by both Sthle Uary and Susan Henry, and the school bullying scale The researcher reached the following conclusion:

The validity of the hypotheses was verified by delving into the psychological theory that pushes the individual towards the nature of his family pattern, and this trend emerged from the family cognition test that was used in this study. The apparent conflict rates, as well as the results showed that the absence of a solution to the conflicts to which they are exposed push children to bullying behavior because these conflicts constitute a source of pressure on children, and the results also showed that children who go towards bullying behavior are always subjected to harsh treatment within the family system, and these negative interactions and relationships Which is described as unnatural within the family system, which is reflected in the psychological stability and behavior of children, and thus the child tries to choose a final solution to these conflicts, which is the behavior of school bullying, so he has an explicit desire for domination and sovereignty. To self-realization is replaced by a sense of safety through bullying behavior because he considers that the cruelty and violence that he has acquired by The family system is a strength, and tolerance and harmony with others is a weakness. Based on this result, the researcher recommends the necessity of establishing a central system for follow-up and data collection to prove the extent of the relationship and severity of family violence to which children are exposed to the behavior of school bullying, and directing the attention of officials to the role and importance of the family in reducing school bullying behavior through parents monitoring their children and evaluating their behavior.
