Abstract

This study aims at identifying the level of sports addiction among gymnasium players in Palestine in the northern region, so the researchers used the descriptive approach due to its suitability to the nature of the study. and in order to achieve this, the researchers used a questionnaire consisting of (26) items distributed among sample of (267) gymnasium players in the northern region of Palestine. After distributing the questionnaire, it was gathered, codified, entered into the computer, and processed statistically using the SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences).  The results of the study indicated a low degree of response to the main study question about the level of sports addiction among gymnasium players i, Also, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) level about the level of sports addiction among gymnasium players due to the variables of age in favor of young ages and kind od activity un favor of fitness levels, and bodybuilding (weightlifting). On the other hand, there were no statistically significant differences attributed to gender. In light of the study results, the researchers came up with several recommendations, the most important of which is holding educational awareness courses on the phenomenon of sports addiction in sports clubs, universities and schools, in addition to developing training programmers for coaches on how to deal with cases of sports addiction.
